About the Department of physics and nanotechnology

Physics and Nanotechnology

The primary competences of the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology are within electronic and optical
properties of materials and in biophysics.

The research activities at the Department cover aspects of solid state physics and biophysics with focus on materials, optical physics, surface physics, materials for electronic components, solar cells, sensor technology, self-organizing bio-structures, molecular electronics, biocompatible surfaces and biophysical studies of peptides and proteins. Basic science as well as applied research is carried out.
